G’day ABC,
Trust you are coping with the ever-changing world we live in and that God is your daily strength. Here’s a few things happening at ABC….
* May Missions month is coming to an end. We have had an incredible response as people have given to these projects. Feel free to keep giving but we will close these projects after this comingweekend.
Current totals are …
Project 1- Bennetts- Target $4700, Current $4161
Project 2- Ros Barnes- Target $3300, Current $5835
Project 3- Junipers- Target $5000, Current $5344
* Many of you will have met Payton and Danielle who are with us from the US for 8 weeks. They have already proven to be great assets to our ministry. Why don’t you reach out to them and offer to have them come to your place for a meal or your Growth Group?
* The biggest up coming event is Bazaar CZ in week 2 of July school holidays (11-15 July). Registrations should open this week- so sign up your Pre-primary to year 6 kids, grand kids and neighbours. We also need HEAPS more helpers to lead teams, do craft, prepare food and much more. If you haven’t let Jordan know you can help- can you do that asap?
* At our recent Members Meeting we appointed Corinne for a further 3 years as our Women’s Ministry Leader- well done Corinne and glad to have you on til 2026.
* In the coming weeks we have a number of our missionaries coming back to ABC. This weekend it will be the Pages from OM in USA
* For some early notice we have Trinity in Town coming to run a full day course on the Gospel of John on the 6th August. Registration is already open 2022 Trinity in Town Tickets, Online | TryBooking Australia
* Sorry if you have missed any weeks live stream due to issues at our end. For some reason we are not having 100% success with this. Sermons will always go online on Mondays if you miss them
* Finally can I point you to the new church APP under ‘Get Connected”. If you would like to become a member of ABC you can start the process there and if you would like to find a place to serve or join a growth group- that is also there on the APP.
* Below is a short note from the Bennetts in Mozambique after their recent adventures.
Grace and Peace
Phil.
Hi Church family! Thank you so much for your prayers, we have seen God’s hand in our lives working in amazing ways in the last few weeks!
After Drew’s motorbike accident on 12th May, he was flown to Johannesburg for surgery on his leg and spent two weeks having follow-up treatment. Ben Good went with him to help negotiate getting to and from appointments and travelling back to Mozambique. As Drew hadn’t had his visa stamped when they exited Mozambique on the air ambulance they were anticipating difficulty getting back – but the immigration official stamped a re-entry into his passport and they passed straight through without any problems!
His leg is swollen and bruised, but the surgery was successful and he feels like it’s healing well. He will have a follow-up x-ray in Cape Town in 12 weeks to make sure the break has fused.
Jacob has made friends with Arde, a local university student originally from Massangulo. He has been catching up with Arde several times a week and his Portuguese is getting quite good! Jacob has also been playing basketball with a team in Lichinga.
Jhodi has been doing the lion’s share of teaching the children while Drew has been indisposed and been enjoying going to the market with Sam, and getting to know some of the ladies who sell fruit and vegetables there. She has made good friends with our language nurturer Mama Ania, too. Visiting the lake has been great for Jhodi to go swimming, but it’s about a 2 hour drive on rough roads to get there!
God bless you all!
Drew, Jhodi and Jacob Bennett
