At Albany Baptist Church we value our Seniors and see them as living treasures. We encourage everyone to see retirement and the so called “golden years” as an important season that can be the best of their lives. While retirement brings some changes and challenges, it also opens up many avenues and opportunities to use our time, resources and experience to benefit others in the church as well as out in the general community.

Seniors Moments is a monthly meeting that usually takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We start with morning tea and finish with a shared lunch. While our meetings normally start at 10.30 am at the church, we also have some outings especially in the warmer months. As well as some fun activities, lots of time to chat, and a great chance to meet new people over a cuppa and meal, we have some interesting speakers.

Our speakers share their personal stories and also aim to address a wide variety of subjects that are of special interest to seniors. Recognising that there are a number of different needs as we get older, those who share try to cover issues that relate to our spiritual, social, mental, emotional, practical and physical well-being.

As well as Seniors moments our men catch up for lunch and different activities on the first Tuesday of the month and we have an afternoon ladies fellowship at 1.30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome to attend any of these activities and you can get more information by ringing our office.
