Policies
Albany Baptist Church (ABC) recognise the right of people to keep their personal information private. This
Privacy Policy is created in compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) required by the Privacy Act
1988, and the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012. It covers how we collect, use,
disclose, and store personally identifiable information.
This policy outlines the underlying principles that direct our approach to safeguarding vulnerable people
involved with Albany Baptist Church (ABC).
This policy exists to help manage and minimize the many risks associated with being a church and running
Christian ministry. These risks include financial, spiritual, physical injury or damage, emotional, and
ministry, and come from both inside and outside the church. While risks can’t all be removed, they can be
assessed, considered, and in many instances minimised. This policy outlines how we do this at Albany
Baptist Church (ABC).
Albany Baptist Church (ABC) is committed to effective complaints management and values the feedback that
can be received via complaints from those that we serve and interact with. It is this opportunity for feedback
that can help us to learn and improve in how we work with individuals and communities.
This policy ensures that we are committed to acknowledging all complaints, managing them discretely while
maintaining confidentiality, and that we respond in a timely manner.
